Hey guys!!
It's the end of week 11 and I cannot believe I've been here for almost three months already! They weren't kidding when they said it'll go by fast. I feel like I've finally reached a place where I am so comfortable here with the people around me and in classes and I don't want to leave. I'm not homesick whatsoever, which I'm surprised by!
Anyway, winter and spring are ending and summer is beginning. The weather here when I first got here was pretty cold, about 30-40 degrees Fahrenheit, and it rained almost every single day. I was surprised when I got here to see palm trees everywhere because it was so cold! Usually when I think of palm trees I think of tropical climates, but that wasn't the case here. The weather here is pretty unpredictable, one minute it will be sunny and calm outside, then the next it will be windy and pouring. The rain is so spastic here so make sure you always have a raincoat or umbrella on you! Because of the random sunny rain there is a lot of rainbows, which is nice to see on a daily basis.
The winter was very mild here, it doesn't snow or get too cold, so it wasn't that bad. Spring was the same way, very mild and the temperature was at a pretty constant 50-60 F. The wind in the spring was pretty strong though, and so was the random rain throughout the day. Now that it's getting into summer, the weather is in the 60s most of the day and is pretty sunny with less rain. I still bring my rain coat with me everywhere I go though!
Something I've learned while being here was to use Celsius instead of Fahrenheit. Someone would say "oh it's like 18 out!" so I've adopted to learn the Celsius conversions and have been using that instead of using what I'm used to.
