GUYS - I made it!
I've been here for about a week so I wanted to give a little update of what I've done so far. When I first got dropped off here at about 9 am, the bus took me straight to College Hall, which is where I am living for the semester. I'm pretty sure all of international students and most of the freshman live in these dorms. Me and the 7 other people from Susquehanna were all taken to our rooms by Lorraine at the front desk and told to settle in before lunch. When I first saw my room I was really happy about how nice it was because I had no idea what to expect. I never had a single before, so this was different from what I'm used to. I went to lunch and then immediately fell asleep because all of the traveling was absolutely exhausting.
Me and everyone else were trying to figure out where to go to stock our rooms up, so we tried to find a Walmart, but then we found out that Walmart didn't exist here. A girl we all just met told us that most people go to the Warehouse for what they need, which is like a 15 minute walk from our dorms. So off we went! We probably spent about two hours in there trying to find everything, it's basically a Walmart (cheap and amazing).
The group of us 8 are all just sticking pretty close to each other trying to figure everything out together. I've met so many kiwis in this first week and I absolutely love how they speak and their lingo, but I'll talk about it more in another blog when I learn more. I'm not gonna lie - this first week has been a lot to take in. I'm nervous to see how it's gonna go but I'm also so excited I could scream.
Time to explore Hamilton.
